The increasing market demand for decapods has led to a considerable interest in cultivating decapod species at larger scale. Following the development of hatchery technologies, most research focused on formulated feeds commercially farmed once they enter juvenile stages. use feed commercial scale is still early This probably because unique feeding behavior that possess: being robust, slow feeders and bottom dwellers, their preferences change during transition from pelagic larvae benthic juveniles as digestive systems develop become more complex. current practice aquaculture involves provision with food such natural diet, live feed, feed. Knowledge nutrient requirements enables diets be better formulated. By manipulating levels proteins lipids, can expected lead optimal growth decapods.
